Turkey Chili


I got this yummy Turkey Chili recipe from allrecipes.com and love how easy it is to make. In one bowl, you are getting the protein and fiber you need to fill you up.  This recipe serves 8 so if you are not feeding that many make sure to divide, or make the full recipe and freeze half for later.

Ingredients:
1.5 tsp olive oil
1 lb ground turkey
1 yellow onion, chopped
2 cups water
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
1 16oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
a splash of white wine

Directions:
Cook meet with the olive oil until browned in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and saute for a few minutes.  Pour the water into the pot and then add all of the remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to low and then cook for another 30 minutes.
